ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Gio

WHERE I COME FROM
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and love the Pacific Northwest! I enjoy learning about cities and urban planning, following politics, hiking, and hanging out with friends.
My passion for advocating and representing my community predates my time at Willamette. In high school, I was on student government and President of my school's chapter of National Honor Society.
Fast forward several years and I am a third-year, double majoring in Politics, Policy, Law, & Ethics and Economics—as well as the first in my family to attend college. Outside of academics, I am an ASWU Senator for the Class of 2022, a student representative on the College of Arts and Sciences Academic Council, a Resident Advisor, and a legislative intern for the Oregon Senate Majority Leader, Rob Wagner. MY VALUES
As ASWU President, I will draw on my experience and will be guided by values of equity, inclusivity, communication, and transparency. I will carry out the duties of the ASWU Presidency in a manner that is transparent and takes into account issues of equity. I will communicate with the student body regularly about the work I am doing and seek input from all students. (Check out my 'Priorities' webpage to learn more!)
